Oh, great design ! I was thinking about asking him about the fantasy swords Gurthang/Dragon swords that were linked in another thread by LoE but I will first see how your sword will turn out before.

Oh man... polished black horn with brass is going to look slick! Will you be going for an overall polished "bling" look? Or more antiqued duller worn finish?

Nice fantasy design! GGK is based in Nepal, right? I didn't know they do custom European style swords, too. Alright, it's not historical European, but it's medieval fantasy. Super interested in knowing how this turns out.

Super interested in knowing how this turns out. Purna Darnal (Owner of GGK) is willing to try and forge just about anything you give him. Lol. There's the go-getter!

If Purna won't make you something, he will be honest about it.

Purna has stated that he avoids doing very high polish on long blades as it can be dangerous. And this is the longest blade he has ever done lol. So on this we have agreed to go with a normal satin type for the blade. But on the fittings and horn I was absolutely thinking it would have the Bling'd look. Safety first!

It's easy to forget how dangerous buffing wheels can be. He's probably seen at least one blade get flung by the wheel into a wall.

That's a very handsome set. Love the culinary add-ons. You going to get to use those at a Renn faire or somewhere?

So these 2 pieces came in today, still have to take photos. The Bowie is absolutely awesome just pure awesome. The sword is a really good attempt for a first longsword but there are a couple problems with it(in the blade). This is to be expected for a first time so I am not going to be unreasonable in my expectations. Some of the stuff is really well done on it, The hilt is amazing IMO for a first attempt. Care to elaborate on the issues with the blade?

I really love it. You can always take a little material off near the tip. A sword cimcumcision, you might say. Sorry, terrible analogy.

Great stuff but I'm really digging the knife and fork part of the set. A man-at-arms' gotta eat.
