I was wondering how you figure out the edge hardness or is it just in the description or specs. Looks like a good sword to me I have a few swords from budk and I was happy with all three I have the tactical wakazashi and the only complaints on that are the rope around the saya came loose and you have to be careful because if you don't twist it a little as you sheath it it will fall out and that thing is razor sharp. How did it feel the shikoto when you were cutting with it. I liked your presentation or demonstration to very insightful and educated

Thank you for your review of "Shikoto Hidden Samurai Katana". I bought this sword yesterday from True Swords and have been very worried that I made a mistake. I read many negative reviews of True Swords which caused me to think that this Katana might be a bad investment. I even tried to cancel my purchase but couldn't do so on their web site. I called them the next morning and was told that the sword purchase was already received at their warehouse and couldn't be cancelled. That seems very fishy to me. They told me that the only way to cancel the purchase was to refuse delivery and it would be returned to their warehouse and then I would get a refund. Again that all sounds fishy. Your review gives me confidence that the sword I receive might be a good one. So I will need to decide to either accept or reject the sword once it is delivered. By the way your wielding of this sword was amazing...Great job.

I don’t have experience with ordering through them, but I have a high opinion of these Budk Shikoto swords for the money.

I just posted a review of the Shikoto Touchstone katana. Not nearly so professionally done as yours but in rather under some less than ideal operating rules at the moment.
From what I can see and have experienced with my blade so far is right in line with your findings on the Hidden Samurai. The blades look identical and fittings/color seem to be the only thing.
I'd say a decent sword for the price. I may get the matching wak one day if I have another wild whim. I've just bought three new swords in the last month. Jumped up from the cheap seats where I was stuck for years. Branching into pricier and better swords.
Not quite ready to make that jump to a 600 buck unit that's considered "mid grade " That's top shelf price to me. I could never justify a super top end 1200 to 2000 dollar piece. I'll get firearms before swords if I've got that much dough to play with.
Anyway great review. I think I'm chewing pretty much the same dirt you did there with my new sword. It was nice to see it in former action than I can do at the moment and put fears I bought a 300 dollar dud to rest.
