They hurried up and shipped the katana, so looks like I'll be reviewing that when it comes in. Gods, I hate this seller. Please people, don't buy from this hack.

One thing I don't get is why is there a million decent katana, but a decent wakizashi is incredibly rare to find, at a decent price. Less sword less materials less price right? You would think anyway

You would think anyway Thats kinda where you and the OP are off track though. For starters Wakizashi are rare because the demand for wakizashi is lower than katana. The argument of less sword = less materials = less price, doesn't work either because unlike the katana which 90% of sub $300 katana are stamped out via machine, the wakizashi is more of a special make due to not being the average 28" blade, 7-8" tang katana, that are made to fit roughly 99% of all the mass produced tsuka, koshirae and saya they create to churn out these "custom katana" at the volume they do. So with wakizashi they have to cut everything like saya, tsuka and blades down roughly, as most of these Longquan direct forges do. Or make new saya tsuka and blades of wakizashi proportions that can be mass produced like the katana. And the cost of such is feasible enough to make profit like katana.

.............a decent wakizashi is incredibly rare to find, at a decent price......... Now that's just not true!! Why, I got a genuine sanmai, DH, well-mounted, 20-inch, shinogi-zukuri wakizashi on eBay for $120 once. All I had to do was order a tanto from Ryan, and they sent me the wak instead (mis-stocked, one supposes). How's that for customer service?
