Late 19th century European military officers sword...Ill let the experts chime in to identify it precisely.

It looks like it wants to be Prussian, before WWI but there is no indication of what service branch it was meant for. If there is a maker's mark under the guard langet at the base of the blade, it could be a private purchase "trophy" after having had military service. Dale Martin at www.swordforum.com/vb4/forumdisplay.php?11-Antique-amp-Military-Sword-Forum knows these forward and backwards. While he has visited the military section here, he is more often found at SFI and on facebook. There us a chance it is a modern reproduction and if there is no blade marking at all, that is a real possibility and explain no branch of service. Cheers GC
