So sorry to heat this...he had a good run but will be missed. Life is so fleeting. I can honestly say I enjoyed every one of his films... His obituary ; www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-13087132How I will always remember him; the James Bond of "Goldfinger..." In 1996, during his acceptance speech for the Golden Globe lifetime achievement award, Connery reflected on his career and told the applauding audience: "I’ve made a lot of films, some of which I’ve forgotten, and some of which I’ve tried to forget. But in the course of this strange thing we call a career, I’ve traveled to scores of exotic places, I’ve met many interesting people, kissed dozens of beautiful women, and have actually been very well paid for it, and I am most grateful."

R.I.P. Mr. Connery. An original for sure.

Just saw this on the morning news. Definitely a great actor with a large body of work. RIP
I do think it’s humorous how people are getting ‘mad’ at 2020 when famous people have died. Famous people die every year, doubt it’s more this year than any other, give or take. Not picking on anyone in particular, just an observation.

One of the giants. Always remembered for 007 but there were many roles he was fine in, like The Hill and The Offense that fans never heard of. Even as he aged he just took over the screen when supporting others like Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade. Hope Clint Eastwood (also 90 but still VERY busy) hangs around a bit longer and puts out a few more films.

I follow the Fan Theory that Mason from The Rock is James Bond.

He was an outstanding actor, even in his few stinkers. And who else with his reputation would have had the guts to do Zardoz?

The Gun Is Good! I love how he did Zardoz specifically because it was so good/bad and freaking weird that he hoped it would make people see him as an actor and not just James Bond (who he apparently grew to dislike as a character). Of course it didn’t work lol. I actually maintain that Zardoz is a decent film with some interesting ideas and trippy neat sequences, and the whole weirdness of it brings it up a notch actually.

As a kid I loved the Bond movies, and he was the Bond by far. I also enjoyed his later movies The Last Crusade, The Hunt for Red October, The Rock, The League etc. He just never stopped being cool. "Hey Ryan, be careful what you shoot at. Most things in here don't react too well to bullets."

I follow the Fan Theory that Mason from The Rock is James Bond. I always thought that. Even if he isn't, casting Sean Connery in a role as an old HMSS operative 30 years later on in the same timeline, with impressive sets of skills to match, is too much of a coincidence to ignore. You can't help but make the connection. As for me, I think it makes the movie that much more interesting. So sometime in the 70's, 007 was involved in some intrigue and in order to avert either open war or shame brought to England, they decided he should "take one for the Queen" and locked him away in "retirement" with a fake name and identity. Then, years later, some secret squirrel junk he worked on as an agent comes 'round again in the form of chemical weapons, and Nick Cage enters the picture. It actually adds some depth to the characters and plot.
