Surprisingly, a sword I have long sought came up recently, so I must adapt.
For your consideration:
Del Tin Tenth Century Viking Era Sword Model DT2104
$(sold) plus shipping to the lower 48.
I got this sword second hand, and have not used it except to swing it about a few times, and to admire and maintain it. It may have been used to cut by a previous owner, but I don’t see any scratches consistent with cutting.
The only wear I see is consistent with respectful handling.
I’m not aware of any other issues with the sword.
The sword is sharpened in the KoA style, and remains sharp.
To my hand, this sword handles pretty nicely for a Viking style sword. It is comfortable and controllable. Of the few Del Tin's I have owned, this is probably the best in terms of feel.
There is no scabbard.
I strongly prefer PayPal. If you wish to use G&S, please add the evil fee. I was recently burned trying to ship internationally, so I really don't want to do that again. USA lower 48 only, please.
As always, please PM me with any questions, criticisms, haggling, or if you just want to talk sword stuff. Thank you for taking the time to have a look.
It’s a nice model. To me, it has a nice historical flavor. While the Hanwei and H/T Viking Era swords are, to me, superior in handling and fit and finish (and a little cheaper), their industrial precision gives them a bit of a clinical character. The Del Tin’s look great and have a more organic vibe.
Also, the Del Tin’s are very robust and well constructed, yet reasonably good in handling. After a lifetime of use, this sword will still be in fine shape to be passed on or sold.
For some reason, many DT models have been out of stock for a while. If they ever restock, I’d wholeheartedly recommend grabbing one of these.
Brother Nathaniel: I just sent an email to craig to ask him if he might consider the Pommel as a mace head but the email inbox was full apparently. Hope all is well with A&A
