It appears to have character. The real test will be how will it handle? Looks great.

I really like what they did with the furniture. Not too sure how I feel about the blade itself; I'm kinda "meh" on damascus in general but the pattern is clean enough. Can't tell how long it is, but it seems kinda short? Would like it better with deeper curve, but everything in this entire post is 100% subjective so it doesn't matter at all.

The furniture choice and decoration was a collaboration design between me and him. I wanted it to have the visual elements of Nepalese animals and mythology. If you notice, the Damascus pattern even has a tiger stripe quality to it. The blade is 28 inches long. The blade is based off an antique he actually owns from the Mid 1800's.

That metal chape and guard ! And every element has a purpose and meaning to it. I will elaborate further when I have a little more time.

I've been wondering why I haven't received an update from him in a few days on my piece, and it's because he has been finishing up that beautiful yataghan and this amazing piece. I really love the fittings. They have such character and they tell a story.

God that hilt is incredible. How does it feel?

It feels great actually, The grip is not cramped but it's also not too long. It's pretty close to the Cold Steel Talwar grip length but perhaps slightly more roomy. This allows a lot more flexibility in wrist movements allowing you to actually fence with it easier.
The balance is about 4.5 inches in front of the guard. Weight is 2 lbs 1 oz.

That's a great weight and a great POB! It's interesting, Purna said that he hasn't actually made too many of these and never in damascus. But I will say if this is his first attempt then I can only imagine how nice they would be after he has a few more chances at them. Another thing of note is that it doesn't have an extreme amount of distal taper, it's very gradual. But the grind is so aggressive that it still ends up lightening it. I haven't grabbed the calipers yet but I would imagine it probably stars out at about 7mm, Half way about 5mm, And probably about 3mm an inch from the tip.

Looks fantastic in person Brother :) It will be interesting when he builds my custom scimitar/talwar I got a feeling he's going to use the same blade but I went with just 5160 blade steel instead of the damascus, will be interesting to see how they both compare.
