I am not so familiar with the different types, I would go with the highest coverage. Esp with hand guns being very common amongst the criminal population, I would feel safer with more coverage/lower than high caliber rifle coverage than with less coverage/high cal rating. I started writing this out a couple hours ago on sporadic breaks at work. Didn't see the second MOK warning. As a lawyer what do you think about it/charges against him? To me, not being a lawyer but reading the WI self defense laws, and watching the footage available it seems like he was justified in at least the shooting. As a sideline lawyer, my prediction is a jury would acquit based on self-defense. My favorite internet lawyer did a great analysis on this part of it. One thing that I think will be interesting to see is whether the prosecution or the defense tries to move the venue of the trial. My hunch is the average Kenoshan juror will be prone to be sympathetic to KR. If the prosecution tries to move the venue then we'll know that's probably true. If the defense gets the histories of the people shot into evidence (they all have ugly records) then KR's chances really go up. I like that guy too, as well as Viva Frie and a few others, but I don't like "Legal Eagle". Yeah, I'm thinking his chances of getting off are really high too, especially with how well recorded the night is. I was really surprised about that aspect, the narrative video put out by his defense has actually become a good reference. One argument I've seen against KR, other than the stock "shouldn't have been there/crossed state lines/underage carry" is one stating that since he put himself in a dangerous position he doesn't have the right to self defense. Which to me doesn't sound right, since he was running away all the time, but I wonder if the WI juries will be sympathetic to that idea if the prosecution goes that route. Politics spoil legality. I think people are totally capable of talking about a legal case without being political even if the case is being used by political figures for their own needs.

Ok, now that THAT has been settled by MOK, which do you prefer? Chest Rig, Tactical Vest, or plate carrier? Personally, unless I know damn well I am going to get shot in center mass, I would wear my chest rig or tactical vest. I can carry enough magazines in both, and the vest also has larger pouches. I freely admit I am not trained in or fit enough to wear plates for long periods of time, so I would use what I actually know how to use. Honestly, I would likely use the vest, considering the extra utility and little increased weight. Plus it has a sturdy drag loop. Plate carrier if you're part of a body of armed men overtly occupying an area. Absolutely nothing of the sort if you're not looking for a fight. Real SHTF survival gear: concealed level IIIa soft kevlar vest, concealed pistol, and a full tank of gas.

If run of the mill survival situation--I would move quiet, inconspicuous and fast.

I am a big believer in specialization. - For full battle rattle I have Eagle CIRAS carriers (two bottom in photo)... they have excellent wrap around SPEAR/BALCS cut level IIIa soft armor to protect against pistol rounds which I think is the more likely threat in a SHTF scenario but also accommodate level III/IV SAPI/ESAPI plates simultaneously. -I have the SPEAR/BALCS cut "low visibility" (LowVis) carriers (Eagle and First Spear) that can take the same soft armor and plates that the CIRAS vests do but with a low key appearance and no MOLLE capability. (upper left ) -Finally I have pure concealment vests for just that purpose. I have a deep concealment level IIA (top) and a US Marshals contract overrun IIa/IIIa vest (upper right) for concealment. Note, while I still have all my original Ceradyne ceramic SAPI/ESAPI plates in the photo, I have since updated to modern UHMWPE level III plates and UHMWPE/ceramic level IV plates. Pro Tip; ONLY buy kevlar aramid soft armor/inserts.

Where do you get one of those? Pawn shops around Army bases. we just called it kevlar but I realized that may not make sense--it's a kevlar helmet--can't remember the official .gov acronym for it.

The carbine (M4/M1) is my preference for the urban riot/insurrection setting, here is the kit I will use if the fascist / leftists want to engage in urban combat in the future. I wish I had an M1 carbine--seems to be one of the few ammos readily available right now.

I wish I had an M1 carbine--seems to be one of the few ammos readily available right now. I love my M1 carbine's. I have a couple WW2 GI guns and commercially made M1 using a commercially made receiver and all GI parts. They all flawlessly. That commercial M1 is my "trunk rifle" for long road trips and would be a trunk gun if the current law and order situation in my area continues to decline precipitously, Happily, I have a "substantial" supply of; 9mm/.45 acp/5.56 NATO / 7.62 NATO ammo. I have very little .30 carbine... maybe 1500 rounds but the carbine is a very "unassuming" semi auto rifle that can be used early in the "troubles" without incurring public wrath for having a "black rifle". If its an all out urban insurrection, the carbine stays where ever I sleep and the AR is the go to weapon.
