I'm not sure if it violates the rules to talk about the Kenosha shooting, but I am doing so only from a combat perspective without comment on the politics (although as a lawyer I am keenly interested in the legal aspects too). Reviewing all that footage demonstrated how a carbine with a standard capacity magazine is very useful in a multiple attacker, urban environment for close range fighting. It also showed how valuable properly slinging your weapon is. Without a sling, KR may have had his weapon taken from him. I kind of grimaced at paying $15 for a single magpul sling QD in the past, but now I am glad I did it instead of buying the cheaper kinds. As a lawyer what do you think about it/charges against him? To me, not being a lawyer but reading the WI self defense laws, and watching the footage available it seems like he was justified in at least the shooting. As a sideline lawyer, my prediction is a jury would acquit based on self-defense. My favorite internet lawyer did a great analysis on this part of it. One thing that I think will be interesting to see is whether the prosecution or the defense tries to move the venue of the trial. My hunch is the average Kenoshan juror will be prone to be sympathetic to KR. If the prosecution tries to move the venue then we'll know that's probably true. If the defense gets the histories of the people shot into evidence (they all have ugly records) then KR's chances really go up.

Someone said they have a dragon problem? You could borrow one of Lord Newport's tanks. This one I think...one generation older than the AFV in the movie.... T54/55 MBT. The movie used a more modern British Chieftain. I am posing here after getting it into position in Levi Stadium for WrestleMania XXXI.

Sadly I don't have body armor At hand Folding knife Machete Hatchet All of these are light and fit well against each other. Mosin + Bayo (given the events with riots and how close some get, having a spear seems more useful than it did a few years back). Good pair of leather boots and wool coat/warm/cold apparel. And a short sabre which weighs 650 grams for good measure and for the meme. I used to do pest control on a ranch and experimented walking around muddy fields with a bunch of gear on. If I had the dosh I'd jump for an M14. A little heavier than I like but hey, they work. As for serious weapons I’d actually carry in a real event, my Diamondback AR-15 works perfectly. Super light, reliable, and accurate enough. I don’t have a pistol or wearable blade I trust to pull fast enough. Hard to beat the AR, Americas favorite "sporting" rifle and the teeth of the Second Amendment. Amen.

Clear case of self defense with Communist lunatics attempting to murder a man with an AR. Darwin law number whatever: Never attempt to murder a man with an AR when unarmed. Note the violence went WAY down after that night as people had their fill of the looting, violence, arson, destruction.

Here’s the pics of the cosplay in progress. Very nice cosplay, quite underrated movie IMHO. And a very nice movie quote (this is meant to be FRIENDLY FUNNY MOCKING - believe it or not!)... Creedy (Gerald Butler): "Only one thing worse than a dragon... Americans!" ;-)

Your known politics, attitude and history of rude anti American political comments known by all in this forum totally undercut your claim of humor just to make another vailed jab at Americans and America. We'll let the Mods sort it out. I doubt they will be fooled by your hiding behind your "little joke" either.

I am glad that quite some forumites (thank you people for the kind words) as well as at least some mods see it a little different or at least "differentiated"; the insults and just as political posts coming from you and others are seen as well.

Dandelion NEVER misses a chance to make a derogatory comment about America/Americans even taking the opportunity this time to "hide" behind a joke. Had that been posted by anyone but Dandelion, it would have been taken at face value as a joke, but one would wonder why someone would choose "that" particular line to quote out of the blue in the context of this thread.

Drop the Kenosha discussion. Why can't we discuss legal cases? I suspect we cant discuss it because of the politically charged environment the incident occurred in. Hell, FB has ruled the guy is a "mass murderer" and has banned any conversation about him on its site in support of his claim of self defense even as they allow others to raise money in support of clemency for convicted cop killers. Don't expect this SBG Forum policy to change until after firearms are gone and they start "coming after swords and all the evil people in here who own such brutal offensive weapons of war". Channeling MOK ; "This is a sword forum, there are other places online to have such discussions." PS: I think the kid was just plain stupid to put himself in that environment/situation to begin with. He is a stupid kid who won a stupid prize regardless of the legitimacy of his claim of self defense.

Do not knowingly poke at things you know to be touchy.
This is an official warning; another within 30 days results in a temporary suspension. You still cant stop it.. get back on the meds! And you know damn well that sort of thing is not cool. This is not an actual fight; you do not get to claim "self defense", nor a free pass to break forum rules even if someone else does it first.

Why can't we discuss legal cases? Because it cannot help but get political. And then people say stupid, insulting things. And then we have to oppress their free speech. And then we get complaints about being blatantly anti-American or blatantly pro-American or both. It's an extremely volatile subject, a currently ongoing situation full of speculation and apparently very emotional for a lot of people, so just leave it alone.

Ok, now that THAT has been settled by MOK, which do you prefer? Chest Rig, Tactical Vest, or plate carrier? Personally, unless I know damn well I am going to get shot in center mass, I would wear my chest rig or tactical vest. I can carry enough magazines in both, and the vest also has larger pouches. I freely admit I am not trained in or fit enough to wear plates for long periods of time, so I would use what I actually know how to use. Honestly, I would likely use the vest, considering the extra utility and little increased weight. Plus it has a sturdy drag loop.
