Thought I'd try something different this time. [Cue music, Nights in white satin...]
This time around, I bought a skiver - Tandy Super Skiver - and skived the edges and rolled them over rather than cutting off clean. This is what you'd see on Albion-style grips and looks more finished. This was kind of easy to do. However, I could not get the seam thin enough using the Super Skiver. I need a tool that is less heavy duty. I ended up butting the seams together, left the last 1/4" unglued and cut a straight line after the wrap was mostly dry, then finished it off with a little super glue. This made for a straighter seam and no glue over the top of the seam, as was the case in my last two wraps. I think the skived/wrapped seam works better with a cord overwrap to compress it, anyways. I was not sure I'd like the color on a grip, but I think I do. There may be some historical basis for white grips, so I've read.
Risers, and some cracks in the core filled with super glue and sawdust:

Thanks for looking!

Wow, beautiful!
I'll have to remember the skiver whenever I get around to doing a grip myself.

That looks really cool, Illustry! I like it. Have you thought of bluing/darkening the pommel and guard? Maybe its just me, but I think that would contrast nicely with the white hilt, and really set it off.
