So, kailash blades redesigned their Chitlange kukri to be more martial focused and differentiate from their Sirupate. I got in a 24in model today with a micarta handle and optional handguard. This thing feels fantastic in hand. It may honeslty benefit from being slightly more tip heavy. I think as a "tactical" sword it would do pretty well as a general shtf blade.
Trying to get pics up but imgur has decided I dont need to do that at the moment.

Quick clarification: When you say 24", is that blade alone (straight line, I assume) or overall? I'm not sure how Kailash measures, but Himalayan Imports measures the whole knife (so a 24" knife would be more like 18" blade, 6" handle) but KHHI and others list blade-only (24" means the blade is 24" long; adding the handle likely making the whole knife 30" or better) Anyway, PICS.

Yeah, 24in blade in a straight line from guard to point my bad. Lol. Grip is 8.25in counting pommel.

Not bad. Personally I'd go without the guard and half the handle, but overall a neat design.

It doesnt really need the long grip, but man can you get some momentum going if you choke down to the bottom half in a single hand grip.

No doubt. But I'm not a fan of guards in general, especially very large ones on knives/swords that traditionally go without.
Still a cool piece.

Okay, 1) This is an old thread I'd forgotten about. 2) How the heck did my last post go triple? Also, I made a typo. Too late to fix that now, but I'll delete the two extraneous posts at least.
Prior comments still stand.

Fortunately for all it's a semi custom and you can choose guard or no guard, sheath type, handle material, blade length...

Thanks for sharing! I managed to get a bit of comparative testing done on our 24" chitlange as well as a bunch of other blades on a workshop trip this year and we've made some changes. -All chitlanges are slightly thicker for the first few inches of the blade. On smaller blades this helps add a bit of heft and authority in hand and on larger blades tames the POB a touch without the need for a guard. -The tip profile has also been made broader on all blades above 14" for better durability and cutting performance. The spine near the tip is also a little thicker while the grind itself has gotten leaner. Previously the tip was a but underbuilt compared to the rest of the blade. Now the grind and the tip are a bit more uniform in this aspect, with increased durability all round and very little loss of thrust performance -fullering extends further up towards the tip on longer blades. -the guards have been put on a diet, with formed sheet metal guards on shorter blades and sheet/plate guards on larger blades rather than cast ones all round. This is more durable, and helps to keep the balance between guard and no guard more comparable. - The 2H only handle limitation will no longer apply for larger lengths- these are doable one handed up to 24". - the 2h handle itself is made shorter, with a slimmer pommel area that's shaped better for guiding the blade rather than straight up gripping. It also cuts weight that's far away from the bolster leading to a blade that accelerates and decelerates better. Take care, Andrew and the team at Kailash
