Hi Everybody, here's another review this one on the Ryujin custom wakizashi. Let me know what you guys think and also for those with the experience let me know how this wakizashi compares to other chinese custom wakizashi in your collections! No cutting on this one bro lol Great review as always. Thanks glad you enjoyed it! Yea sorry I've decided to separate cutting from the initial reviews and give cutting videos their own separate series on the channel. Should be posting the cutting videos soon just waiting for the temp to drop below 100 and collect proper targets lol.

Interesting. I also have some really good stuff that I paid a second hand price for that I like very much, but wouldn't buy at full price.
It comes back around to the concept of perceived value. We will pay a lot of money for something, little money for other similar things, based on our image of value for the money.

Definitely, value wise I'd still say other wakizashi on the market by Hanwei for example are better. But if you gotta have green ito with a red saya then I guess these are your safest bet if you're uncomfortable purchasing from direct Chinese forges.

Who would get a green ito with red saya when orange is a much better choice?

Who would get a green ito with red saya when orange is a much better choice? I dunno, wrap the top of the saya with some yellow rayskin and you've got a traffic light sword...

Maybe we can have a contest to see who can order the most garish and tacky sword options?

Maybe we can have a contest to see who can order the most garish and tacky sword options? If I had money, and was still into the Japanese sword market, I would be all over this. Sounds like a blast, seeing what everybody would come up with.
I know, historically, some swords have been exquisitely lavish, and some just outright absurd. But then mean old curmudgeon Tokugawa set rules and ruined all the fun.

Who knew the original "penguin suits" were, katana right? lol.
