Just a close up of the tank I finished today. I'm always impressed by the mould details on their kits. No wonder they cost so much... Somebody please make rules for the space marine on toilet unit. Immobile sentry unit with a gas attack People often complain about the price, and yeah it is expensive, but they are made in the UK and are definitely worlds ahead in quality over your 20 dollar Chinese hobby lobby model kit. I think the real problem is the massive startup price. After you get a fully functional army it’s just tweaking composition every once and a while.

It's been a LOOONG time, but I used to passionately build tank and related military vehicle models, primarily from WWII era, mostly Tamiya brand. It all started by me reading the DC comic book series about The Haunted Tank, and my long-lost prized model was an M3 Stuart. i.ebayimg.com/images/g/kBUAAOSw549fJG7H/s-l1600.jpgI have a cheap M3 Lee model from hobby lobby that I glued together in 10 minutes. Not the best quality but it came painted and is fine for a desktop display piece.

Played a combat patrol match today against Chaos Renegades. I won but barely. I had four models left on the table at the end.

I built all sorts of models growing up. I got into WH40k because the models are awesome. I got a ton of used stuff cheap when I lived in a college town. I would buy lots of random models--Ebay the stuff I didn't want to keep and build my collection which was mostly Orks and Spacemarines.
The lore is fun too, and I have quite a few books. I haven't played the game much though. My oldest is starting to enjoy models now. We built an A-10 and a submarine last year. My kids all love the WH40k minis and have epic marine/ork battles. The only downside is they are pretty rough on the models which aren't quite as robust as action-figures.

Got the entire combat patrol primed and a squad (shoddily) painted. They will be going up against my friend’s entire Crusade Force tomorrow afternoon in the first big battle I’ll play. Played a smaller game two weeks ago and won but made some serious mistakes that I won’t make again.
