Thanks, you know I found the sword rather light in hand honestly, in comparison to the weight and balance of my Windlass Classic Medieval. I've read in other reviews though that some models have a more forward balance measuring around 7-8". Maybe check yours and see.

Balance-wise, mine is around 6”, it’s a bit far for my liking but still maneuverable. For a swords of this size, i prefer the PoB around 4”. But that’s probably subjective, as these swords are predominantly used with shields.

Then again some swords just aren't for some people. For example with me I just dont get a good feel for sabers. Just the way they handle.

I had posted earlier “good review”, but fail to see the post. I also said that I have no Viking swords but they’re on my list. I like the fact that has a wood core scabbard.

What a timely review, Dave; this sword is sort of named after St. Olaf, and its his feast day today! I do own one of these, and am glad I bought it. The scabbard is tight, so that it takes effort to unsheathe it. I don't see this as too much of a negative. I find the sword to be light and fast, and mostly well-balanced. I'm being picky, but my only real negative is that I think the hilt is a bit too narrow. Makes the grip seem a little insecure, so that I want to hold on very tight. A spacer in the middle might help with the grip perhaps.
Nice review. Keep them coming!

Odd well thanks for the compliment either way lol. Yea everyone should have at least one viking sword and the Sticklestad is a good choice for someone who prefers a lightweight viking. Yea its odd how Windlass offers a wood core with this one yet the other higher prices models are leather only.

Its much better reduced like I did and yes a central riser does add to the grip.
