Hello there, sword friends. I have been active on the SBG Facebook group for a while, and now I'd like to also join in on the forum discussions. Here's my first video review of a longsword reproduction of a rare Oakeshott type--the type XVIIIc, which is a beast of a cutter despite usually categorized as one of the cut-and-thrust longswords. I performed 6 longsword basic cuts, and 5 meisterhaus or master strikes to showcase the sword is capable of cutting extremely well in all moves. I then talked about the Oakeshott Type XVIIIc swords' common characteristics and history in comparison with some of the other popular sword types of the time. I also discussed this specific sword's handling and fit and finish quality. Its detailed statistics including the length, weight, profile and distal taper measurements, point of balance, sword steel are laid out to explain how it has such a potent cutting capacity. I also took a look at some of the options on the reproduction market including custom smiths in comparison with this offering. In conclusion this sword is an easy recommendation to practitioners and cutting enthusiasts--an Albion Principe's affordable and accessible little brother. The link to the product page and the swordsmith's workshop can be found in the description of the video.

Excellent video, I really like Viktor Berbekuz swords. I have one of his hema longswords I bought from Purpleheart Armory. They are a good dealer. I should probably get this sword too. A simple grip rerwap and a scabbard would make it very nice looking.

Though his fit and finish is expected for this budget range, his products all share a rugged and imposing look. After trying out some cutting-oriented swords from other smiths and manufacturers, I came to appreciate this one quite a bit. And yeah a simple scabbard would go a long way for a sharp sword, right now I have to keep it in a rifle case, as my kids are roaming around the house all day and I can only afford to have swords with scabbard out in the open =D
