My great grandfather found some old keepsakes from his time in ww2. The katana looks like a naval gunto from this blurry pic, says he bought it in Japan just after the surrender. The real tricky one is the one in the back. He says he got it in the Phillipines, (apparently there's a grisly story associated with it, but I'll need to get that story from my grandfather) Im hoping to go take a better look this week at them, as getting this photo was a significant challenge for my 94 year old grandfather. Yup, that's a kai gunto and a particular style of Filipino bolo that I forget the name of, but I've seen one before.
