Colt Dragoon (which is why Matsumoto named his favorite fictional gun "Cosmo Dragoon"). Specifically the First Model of 1848, I think, given the round cylinder notches and square-backed trigger guard.
PS. What replica to use as a basis depends on whether you want it to be functional, of course. Personally I'd go for something in real steel or honest plastic, as the pot metal used by Denix and such is extremely brittle and can be a real pain to reshape without mishaps.

Looks cool. Based in part off a Ruger ? What is that long rear protrusion? In a toy, probably the first thing broken off in rough play. Looks to me, like a disincentive to buy. Kind of a WTF?! protrusion if it sticks out like that all the time. Rest of it looks awesome cool. RinC

Totally retro cool (aside from the ugh rear protrusion) that thing is pulled back to load/chamber/get the blaster ready wtf do i know. Like on a automatic gun or so. Holger knows a little about guns, but of course we own none. That would get you in jail without discussion.

Noone needs guns cuz there are no criminals, no crime and everyone obeys the law. Bad people never endanger good folks, women, elderly, kids, family, etc. (why does my coffee taste odd?)

Here is my Colt 1st Model Dragoon , for comparison. Something to keep in mind here , is that the Colt Dragoon is a LARGE revolver...it also weighs in at 4 pounds.
Ignore the bottom pistol..its one I made from spare parts I had in my shop. Andy Click on the picture and it will enlarge
