So long story short, I didn’t get a pistol. I got a Diamondback free float M Lok ar-15, and a Sig red dot. Just gonna get a Magpul AFG and it’s done. The rifle feels extremely well made for the price, but definitely needs a grip for the handguard.

I replaced the MOE stock with a CTR stock I had lying around from an airsoft project that never materialized. The CTR is well worth it due to minimal stock wobble compared to the MOE, which isn’t that bad itself.

I'm proud that you bought a photo of a gun. That's a nice photo that can't possibly be of interest to gun grabbers. If it ever offends anybody, simply give them the photo of the gun and they will be happy. I have lots of photos of guns myself, as all of my real guns were lost last summer in a boating accident their digital images is all I have left. I have a photo of this gun: Shame it fell into the water and was lost.

Pity none of you lads can afford genuine Belgian kick-ass. [Raises a Chimay in salute, and takes a heavy chug.]

It still amazes me that we rejected the FAL as "Not Invented Here", then turned around and replaced the M1911 with a 9-mill Beretta.

I’m gonna try to go to the range very soon and will do a mini review when I do. The rifle here is completely unloaded, cleared, on safe, and pointed away from people or animals. Finger is off the trigger too. I’m just sharing this so you can see it with context. Will update with an Imgur link shortly as the picture is too big to upload. But here is another shot of BOBODDY, named by my brother because it means Biznus.

And here’s the picture in question. All I needed to do was crop it to make it fit the file size after all.

I think the original FAL was a caliber between .556 and .308 which would have been kick ass, but powers that be wanted a WW2 belly gun to stop the perceived Soviets charging through open fields. The pistol grip, among other things, partly helps with full auto.

It was supposed to be smaller and shoot a smaller bullet.

The M9 is a great pistol, not the least of which is because it fits comfortably in my oversized paws. I have no problem with the M1911, but there is definitely market saturation for that form-factor in the US. At this point it's probably easier to count firearm manufacturers which DON'T have a 1911-styled offering.

Rifles should only be named after they've proven themselves. One that fell off the boat last year was a battlefield pickup from the Balkans named by the PO "duyja " which means "f*k you " it had 5 hash marks and a date corresponding to the siege of Sarajevo. The one in the photo I posted was from the same time and region and has 17 hash marks and was named "gazonakasilka" meaning "lawnmower ", also lost in the boating accident. Rifles are like swords, some will earn their own name but most will not

The FAL was also initially chambered for the British in .280 British.

So I did a very brief test of it and it shoots fine, but I am definitely rusty. Too bad there is an ammo shortage because I really need more practice. All the shots are on target but could be way better. The gun does work very well though, a bit more barrel rise than I was expecting from an AR-15 but that’s probably because of the very light M-Lok handguard. All in all very fun to shoot and seems to be worth the money, but more testing is needed to say for sure.
