Lets say we had the tech to time travel and you had a year or so to prepare properly to at least somewhat implement yourself with minimal issues. That means language, clothing, etc...what culture and place in time would you visit? Why?

Italy, Ancient Rome under Trajan, just because .... Cool outfits is a good reason With my knowledge of the world, military history/tactics, there is so much to conquer in the name of Rome and Trajan was one of the very best emperors to rule Rome and live under...

Bavaria of the 6th century AD. The beginning of the existence of the Bajuvarians as a tribe and stem dutchy. Grave findings say that live in this time wasn't so bad, no hunger or plagues or pickled herrings. Alamanni and Awars as neighbors, relative autonomous part of the Frankish Kingdom, interesting times.

I would time travel to the year 2020. I heard it was quite the wild ride, and the way it ended! Whoo!

Depends - is it a one-way trip, or do I get a return ticket, too?

Depends - is it a one-way trip, or do I get a return ticket, too? I’m guessing it’s a two way trip but in the movies and tv shows something always f’s up to make it hard to get back. So you ‘pays your money and takes your chances.’

So you ‘pays your money and takes your chances.’ I'll take my chances in the future, then. Say, two thousand years from now.

Oh, roughly 500 AD in the south west part of Britain to see if there really was a war chief of renown in that era.

Anywhere in the U.S. on the evening of Tuesday, November 3rd, 2020. I want to watch the vile and evil scurry back into the darkness from which they came. A sentiment a high probable number on each political side would seem to agree with. I hope the world a better and more peaceable place by then, but it is 2020, meaning a super volcano or asteroid is not out of the question.
