This isn't so much a "repair" request, but I thought it might fit here anyway. I received a beautiful Albion Agincourt from Christian a few weeks back, and I have no complaints, but I did notice under certain lights these very subtle, but very cleanly-circular marks on the furniture. The two most prominent ones are included in the pics below, although even these are still very hard to notice without close examination. Basically, I'm making this post to satisfy my own curiosity - my own guess is that these are the results of some tool marks from the assembly process, but I can't think what part of the process that would be. They do seem too perfectly round to me to be random or incidental scuffing. I was wondering if anyone else here might have seen something similar on their own Albions, or otherwise had any ideas. Thanks! imgur.com/a/iShdosh

If I were to guess, that's discoloration from some sort of sticker. Have you tried a little polish on them?

Yeah that would make sense. I have taken a grey scotchbrite with some oil to the guard, but I don't think that made a difference to the visibility of these marks.

I think these are filled up casting flaws. The filler material is a different metal and shows up slightly, especially after some very mild surface oxidation.

Ah, that would also make a lot of sense, and I guess that would explain why polishing didn't seem to affect anything. Thanks Lukas

Yes, great observation Lukas, I wouldn't have thought that. I tend to think simplest first.
