In light of the troubling times we are going through (worldwide, but especially in the US), I would really like to know the opinions of my fellow forum members about the subject discussed in the video.

First of all: I'll allow this for now, possibly against my better judgement, but tread very carefully! Keep the discussion firmly in the abstract, okay? The minute this turns into another political debate, I'll close the thread.
That said...
Personally? I'm all for making fun of pretentious message songs!
Taking the bit on face value, though, I think it kinda misses the mark. A member of a group calling another member of that group by a disparaging name associated with that group is usually an affirmation of solidarity, turning it into a badge of pride; it's effectively saying "one of US". When used by someone who's not a member of the group, that same name can only mean "one of THEM", and the only solidarity it can express is with the people who use it in earnest as a pejorative.
Which doesn't mean that you can't use a disparaging label if you really want to, of course, but it does mean that if it doesn't apply to you, you can only use it to disparage the people it is applied to, and have no grounds to object when people take offense at your disparaging language.

MOKThe song literally uses the prejudice of the listener to conclude what the song is about based on insufficient evidence, and then turns it on its head to poke fun at a group of people who have never really meaningfully been discriminated against. I think it's incredibly clever, and I also never apprecieated those two words were anagrams of each other until I heard this song.

Oh, it's a good bit, no argument there!

I agree, it makes the message, and keeps it funny. What is sad is so many *won't get it*. Then the fights begin... Sigh. But the song is very funny, well done!

The SBG membership is being baited. There is clearly no willingness in this forum to engage in the serious political / cultural discussion the poster is surreptitiously trying to start. The rules of this forum require nothing more than "dancing" around the edges of any controversial subject. I'm not sure why this "bait" would even be allowed and then deny actual discussion of the subject in depth while respecting ALL opinions. Other than to point this out, I personally will not play.

When I saw the video thumbnail, I thought this was going to be a discussion about the show "Vikings."

Well, hopefully we all know being bad is bad. Doesn’t matter who does it, doing something wrong is wrong, end of story. That should clarify my position on the current situation without getting political.

Nobody's more ginger than I, so the song made me laugh, but this isn't really a time for levity. I have buddies working long, potentially deadly riot control shifts across the state. There have been deaths on both sides.

There have been deaths on both sides. I would argue that now is exactly the right time for levity. Things have been incessantly anxiety-inducing in ever increasing intensity. Instead of enduring such ill-advised adversity in abject agony, I elect to experience intermittent enjoyment in the enterprise of amliorating amusement and advancing amity.

Mi esposa was fortunate enough to win front row (center) tickets from a radio program. If I'm being honest, George wasn't at his best, but it was nice to be able to see him in person, and we had an opportunity to chat for a couple minutes after the show.

I saw George a few times. The last at a Boston University cafeteria (a few tables back) circa mid 1970s. Much shorter hair and trim beard. Very Lenny Bruce at the time.
