It is obviously inspired by and because of that looks similar in silhouette and the like, it's not the same as accurate or close to accurate, just like poorly researched medieval armor.
I also mean beyond the armor, they sheathe some of their swords on their backs, and dual wield same sized sword/dagger like weapons.
Also that last FB post, he has velcro attached to his helmet to close it Big reenactment error to look at other reenactor pictures for accuracy, look at the sources or listen to people who can show you them.
It's not a dealbreaker for me, and the japanese stuff has inaccuracies as well, just wish they were given the same treatment to make the enemies a bit less generic feeling when you fight them.

I started last week and I am really enjoying the game so far, pretty close to finishing the first island. It's a beautiful game, the movement based combat is neat and the acting is great. I think it does feed a few tropes but I think of it more as an homage than a wweebfest. So far I'd say it's a fitting swan song for the PS4.

I want a Heian jidai, pre-samurai Japan with crazy Taoist onmyodo and monsters...bonus points if I can have an Abe no Seimei NPC who is constantly snarky at me. Is this really too much to ask?
