Miyamoto Musashi - a sword saint of Japan , Book of Five Rings, 60-0 (good chance SOME of his legacy was at least a little exaggerated according to historians). Founder of Niten Ichi-ryū school of sword fighting. I havnt read all of Musashis book, its too much of a chore for me. That being said he didnt seem to like the idea of being emotionally attached to a tool aka a sword. Vs Ittosai Kagehisa- another sword saint of Japan , record 33-0. Founder of Ittō-ryū ("one sword" or "one stroke") school of sword fighting "His main sword was a katana crafted by the Ichimonji school, heirs of the great Emperor Go-Toba's investment in swordmaking. This sword was the one Ittōsai used in his 33 duels, and was later passed on to Grand Masters of the Ittō-ryū, starting with the 4th one, Kamei Heiemon." en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/It%C5%8D_Itt%C5%8DsaiIn this match Ito Ittosai Kagehisa approaches Musashi and catches him offgaurd to challenge him as to avoid any of his shenanigans. The fight goes down in the middle of a field no armour. Say you had to bet your house on the fight, who would you bet on?

I find it peculiar that while they were contemporaries, and both well-traveled as well as well known, it is not recorded that they ever met. I wonder if, unrecorded by history, they knew each other, and had some sort of an "understanding".

I voted Kagehisa , his story seems less extravagant and fabricated by folktales and his art/style seems more interesting. Although I don't know semprini about either art. Only Japanese art I have any clue about is Kyokushin-kai and thats due to some kickboxing training I received from a KK gym and because I had a friend that was really into the art to a point he trained the old school way with hard sparring and bareknuckle face hits, kness and Judo throws... Brutal brutal chit
