Hi everyone! I found this piece in an Athens vintage market a couple of years back hidden under hundreds of random items. It looked legitimate and not a replica of any kind. Have been trying to find out what type of sword it is but can't seem to do so anywhere. Anyone have any idea of what type of sword it might be? Where it might have come from and if it might be worth anything? Have been googling for weeks but cant find anything similar scabbard wise. Thank you all in advance!

It's a Sudanese or somewhere close kaskara. Google that and you will find plenty so you can see prices.

You don’t show the tip of the scabbard which should bulge outwards before terminating in more or less a point, but that no doubt is a kaskara. FWIW that isn't an ancient sword.

Yep, Kaskara. 200 years old at best, likely 100-150. Generally, in good shape, these go $2-500 US. Extra fancy ones, which are rare, may fetch more, but not much.
Wouldn't mind having one, myself, but not really in the picture right now.
