Got this yesterday from KOA. A bit of departure from my normal love of 15th century weapons but you have to try something different now and then. First of all I will say this is a beautiful weapon and a thick slab of steel. My only disappointment was that the edge has a thick secondary bevel. I expected a secondary bevel from Devil's edge but most of the time they do a better job than this. I will be con vexing it later. The sword came with a nice leather sheath but be careful because the recurred edge will try to slice the keeper. Besides these draw backs the sword came razor sharp as usual and was a nice piece of craftsmanship. Mine had solid white bone at the top of scales divided with that looks like a thin spacer of what may be thin wood. The bottom bone scales are made of some amber colored bone with a clear effect. This blade has a bit of artistic license which I really love. The blade is balanced perfectly and the grip is a joy to hold being thin in profile. The blade sliced through a mtn dew bottle in the picture with little resistance despite having a thick edge bevel. I can imagine what a good sliceing blade this will be after I thin and convex the edge.

Not too shabby for a little knife. I quite like the shape of the handle, though I'm not sure how it fits into hisoric trends for the sword type. Looks to be put together quite well, overall. Got any detail pics or specs?

I like it. And those 16-20 oz bottles are harder to cut than the bigger ones. Please post some more pics, maybe of the back edge to show thickness. We’re all stuck at home and need some blade porn. 😎

The blade is dark. What type of finish did they use, blue, backed on epoxy, or ? I tried to look it up but found the bright steel version which at the moment is $35.00, which appears to be a good price for that knife.

It looks like a satin finish with suboptimal lighting to me.

Thanks for the extra pics. Looks good, but a bit smaller than I'd hoped it was. Still very nice for what it is.

Yeah, the grip isn't much like any Greek kopis I've ever seen. I too like the design in its own right, though!

Nice purchase man, my old friend bought that and we used it for years. Really thick and heavy chopper for the size, but always felt fun to use. I still can't believe how good devil's edge prices are for the quality of the products I've had from them. I believe they made the bevel on that just to make the blade have an extra sturdy edge, like you said they typically don't do that.

I think that they had a special on it for 35$ if I remember correctly. They really have good deals on blades on KOA now and then.
