they say its carbon steel which probably is 1045, water bottles maybe will be fine but i would use with extreme caution

It's got the Budk logo stamped over it. That's a bad sign. I have purchased cheap 1045 carbon steel swords like this advertised as full tang only to find a welded rat tail rod in the hilt. Don't throw your money away on this. Buy a cold steel cutlass machete if you want a durable cutter. Buy a Windlass at a minimum if you want a nice looker.
