Hi all.
Just finished reworking a smaller part of my personal Euro dai-sho - Windlass Coustille.
Here's the bigger brother story: @stayathome - Kingston Arms XIV reworked
Bought this one some years ago. I always liked this little thing, but I knew it would shine with a bit of work & love.
So what I did:
1. Repolish. It came with a nasty and steep secondary bevel and wasn't really sharp. I reprofiled the blade and gave it a nice polish.
2. Rewrap the handle. With fullers inside the palm and a bit softer skin it is more comfy & grippy.
3. New scabbard. I didn't really like the original Windlass thick leather sheath. I mean it was sturdy and worked ok, I just didn't like it. I did new one, linden core, some risers, soft black leather. Fits snugly.
4. A sword frog. I didn't make it - i just bought it. In fact I have left and right handed version, so I can carry this one on my left hip, or longer brother on left hip and this one on the right.
And I love it even more. It is fast, agile and cuts like a dream (and I cut with it a lot). Maybe not 2 tatami rolls - not the weight class - but still able to slash deeply. Goes through bottles like nothing. Where it lacks reach and mass, it gains in speed and precision.
Now, on to the pictures.

Frog details. As I said I have frogs for the left and right hips, so it can be put wherever I like.
And here it is with the bigger brother (I am creating another thread about this second lad):
I hope you like it. Stay safe and healthy!
