Eh, maybe. The Japanese have long been very pragmatic people, but I'm not sure how many would good on to this thing.

Looks like it is non-traditionally made gunto from WW2. The mei seems to be STAMP (濃州)関住小島(勝正) - Nōshū Seki jū Kojima Katsumasa. Those in brackets () are unreadable but seeing the partial portions and partial charcters that is the one that would make most sense to me.

Thanks for replying Jussi. I thought it looked like a gunto as well. I just didn't feel comfortable chiming in. I have a similar seki blade that is as robust looking as this. As far as broken blades go, there are Satsuma-age. Which are broken blades reshaped. But most usually end up having Boshi due to the large hamon and Mune reshaping. But they appear to be of usually good quality blade.

I spoke with the seller and basically he didn't want to deal with a return so I ended up with the blade for the cost of shipping. So I might actually be trying to turn this into one similar to those, although I don't care for the one on the left.
