Oh my wow, that's a great summary of how things feel lately: here we have a decent bloke just trying to wish us all good times - and right now when you go to the webcam there's a bunch of absolute douches camping directly in front of the camera with signs like " TURN to Jesus OR BURN in Hell". Oy ve. Regardless... Anybody have any particularly fun sinning planned for Mardi Gras? I'm having a movie night with friends and drinks and absolutely scandalous cinema.

There are other feeds and the parades more fun to watch but there have been two accidental deaths along the way this year. My attentions this weekend have more regarded the WEC auto race at COTA, Austin Tx. Currently running until this evening www.fiawec.com/Medical appts on Mon & Wednesday, embracing Shrove Tuesday. The Bourbon St cam varies in entertainment and mornings clean ups deploy some interesting equipment. There was a lady doing face painting and glitter last year that shared some fun exchanges. Rio gets huge. I almost went in 1998 but ended up serious vacationing right here in the US Bigger image www.espreso.rs/images_arhive/original/1452786357_karni%20Reuter%20Ricardo%20Moraes.jpgFun fact Bars can stay open all night in New Orleans, and liquor is sold in grocery and liquor stores. You're allowed to drink in public, but not from a glass or bottle. Bars will provide a plastic “go cup” into which you can transfer your drink as you leave (and some have walk-up windows for quick and easy refills).

Dear me, is that a Moderator doing some name calling, as well as expressing a religious opinion? Celebrating Mardi Gras a little early in Finland?
I remember Bourbon Street from my college days. An amazing moving zoo of intoxicated strangeness. On the way back one morning to the local guy's house a bunch of us were staying with, as a freshman I wound up holding a passed out buddy's head off the back seat floor of the VW kombi we were in, to keep him from drowning in barf.

Celebrating Mardi Gras a little early in Finland? 1) Silence, peon! 2) They're not fellow posters, and would be just as douchey if they were shilling for Greenpeace or McDonald's or whatever. 3) You gotta take your weekends where you find 'em! Getting half a Monday off was the best some of us could manage. PS. Speaking of which, 1) Rum is still good! 2) Sukiyaki Western Django is still a weird, weird movie! 3) Hangovers still suck!

So to point a of 2, it would be okay to talk about politics and religion if we don't talk to other users about it, eg; rant or free flow writing? No politician is a member here... seems it would be okay to call them out in the same vein you called out religious protesters?

That smell, you know...that gasoline smell...... rather than roasting moderators, one might consider that public executions just might continue until moral improves I did my four years+ as a draftee to SFI moderation and one thing for sure, it is tough to both moderate and participate on equal terms. Good times and bad times, it is easy to get derailed in a topic which then gets contentious (for whatever reason). I'm not sure now why I would bother to reply again to my own thread starter. No one else bothered to reply until Mikko did. The point I was making was an opportunity to live vicariously. Worldwide cams can be both fascinating and entertaining. I am celebrating not having to head out in the evening for a doctor's followup due to computer errors on their end, as well as other Monday denials in other offices I am welcoming. I am not celebrating Mardi Gras as more than a calendar date but if I was fit and truly solvent, as a world traveler, Mardi Gras would fit into my Formula and sports cars itinerary. As I am disabled and not richy Rich, I live a lot of my live vicariously and that includes such forums as this. I am not sure why limits have to be pressed, or the edicts themselves then become what we bicker about. I'd love a snark fest where none would get offended but my humor is lost on many in ordinary conversation. I have a local sempriniing town board on facebook that is entertaining enough but there are still limits of decorum. This thread wasn't started as a semprini fest. This photo will remain as my facebook cover photo until Wednesday Cheers Hotspur; Honi soit qui mal y pense
