Was there a crecy sword available? Some look like it or similar. No. I asked him in a pm earlier. No crecy.

Did you handle the Archduke, Cherusker, and/or Long Seax? If so, what are your thoughts? The long seax is a good piece, heavier than I imagined but definitely up to what I expect a weapon and tool to be. Good quality heavy, not windlass heavy.

**** Sold Out ****
Albion sold another nine swords yesterday including the two bought by SBG members thru me. AFAIAC they are sold out and my offer to act as agent is withdrawn.
Congrats to the two SBG members who snatched up a Sempach and a Principe!!!

Interesting... 1000 sword log.. how is it possible they haven't run through more swords than their site says? How do swords like the Kingmaker which they say they are only making 100 of still have available slots? I'm thinking those are soft caps Thanks for the efforts on behalf of everyone here LordNewport!

I know when I had my Kingmaker made in 2014 they could not give me what number it was out of the total 100 they would make.
maybe they do keep up the numbers somehow but they might be fast and loose with the actually number.

I honestly would be fine if Albion just did away with the whole limited edition aspect of these sword designs. I thought they had done so when they rolled out the new website, but it seems that information just took a while longer to be carried over.
I don't buy a particular model based on how few there might be out in the wild. Even if they do stick to the preset number of swords for a given model, they almost certainly will introduce a similar design to meet demands. For instance, I imagine they would quickly bring another Type XVIa design to market in short order after retiring the Crecy (one of their most popular swords).

...they almost certainly will introduce a similar design to meet demands. So will it be. The limited spending approach is a business practice that works for some potential customers. Sometimes I count myself in and get nervous about termination. Greed eats brain. So far, however, I got away well with.

No, they are firm caps as far as I know. The Valkyrie is a great example. Sold out and no identical or near identical replacement. The sword aficionado community is relatively small and unique. Dont forget that the swords circulating in the used market also meet some demand as well and cannibalize potential sales of new swords.

The Knud is pretty similar to the Valkyrja, and I wouldn't be surprised if they came up with a different take on the famous Suontaka sword somewhere down the line. It's also worth noting that a lot of the vocal interest in a particular model of Albion sword only really gets fired up when word comes out that it's near the end of its production run. The Chieftain, Gallowglass, and Knecht are excellent examples of this phenomenon.

I personally think the limits are placed there to help protect the long-term resale value of their products for their customers. We see the effects every day of huge mass production trend of blades from China and others where as long as there is demand you can buy a new one ... which makes the used / pre owned blades far less valuable in the secondary markets.
