I think that may be just a really bad picture of Viggo. He was in Green Books just a couple of years ago and he didn't look bad at all.

Sir Christopher Lee was the best thing about most things he was in. And what a voice! What a great person that was...

The original (extended edition) LOTR trilogy is as near to perfect as film can get. It's also the rare case in fantasy where the movie is better than the books. 😮 It isnt even close to the books, though the books come from a much less generic perspective than the movies and are thus a bit less accessible to some. They are written so much better though.. the Rhohirrim singing their death songs on the Pelennor as they fight, the love of the people and soldiers for Aragorn and his fulfillment of hundreds of years of prophecy, the better character development in people like Boromir and Denethor (and basically everyone else), and who can forget Aragorns arrival at the Pelennor as well? So much better.. Edit: all that said the movies are some of the best from the last 30 years hands down.

Realistically it is an energy efficient design that is less of a eyesore on the landscape. Underground home are starting to catch on with the rising energy cost so why not make them cute looking. To be honest, if my house ever burnt down I would consider building one of these. Another advantage, less likely to burn down.

It's not even all that outlandish. In a lot of places, building underground has only gone out of fashion in the last few centuries.

I should build one on the back of my property that way if anything ever happens to my house I would be able to move right in. The only problem would be getting my truck or Motorcycles back there and forget any UPS deliveries, when it's snowing they won't even drive up my road. Technically I've already built a Hobbit house. This one covers my thermostat and ceiling fan/light switches.

I think it would be cool to bury a couple of storage containers, and turn them into a hobbit hole/crazy person bunker.

I honestly did not care for the movie up until about 7 or 8 years ago when I rewatched it for the first time since the release. It is a good film though.
That 20 years did sort of fly by though, wonder when the remake will happen?

In a perfect world, I would love to see the books into a few seasons of a big budget television series. Unabridged. I want to hear Samwise sing the lay of Gil-galad.

From what I've been reading Amazon is coming out with what is suppose to be a high budget series to start shooting soon. We shall see.

I want to see the darkside of it more. The pillaged land , politics , blood/gore and the real effects of war on Middle Earth. It would flesh out the world more. The movie seemed somewhat geared towards a younger crowd and being a movie the story was much faster paced. I slightly prefer the movie still but it's close. Its too bad "Black Company" by Glen Cook never got this amount of attention.

Also it is very dark and gritty. Magic is very different in that world, wizards are warlords not guidance councilors. It didn't have the epicness of LOTR though, imo.

The Dominator is very Sauron like, and able to bend just about anyone to his will. The Ten are also very much like the Nazgul. The whole storyline spans multiple dimensions, and involves world( s) domination. The stakes certainly seem higher to me.
