Both Musha and Musashi are sleepers and are excellent entry level katanas for the budget minded. The biggest difference in these and more expensive swords aside from the frills and bells is that the cutting edge needs to be sharpened more often, a good learning experience, and harder targets should be avoided but these are OK for the usual soft back yard targets to learn edge alignment, control, possibly form, and in some cases what not to do. Of course the prestige is not there for those that worry about that sort of thing.

I like using mine to learn edge alignment.

I really enjoy the look of the shikomizui. Would make an excellent cane sword Pick one up man! At $60 what’s to lose? I feel like people are gonna think I’m like a spokesman for Musha but I really just have a spot for them in my heart because without them I can’t say I would be into katanas today. I have Swords of Northshire katanas 1060 and other 1095/Chinese T10 now, but would still pick up a Musha at that price lol.

They have simple fittings and pretty plain tsuba as well as shoe lace feeling ito that isn’t silk on their lower models, I just feel like starting out it is good as long as your not to picky about koshirae and tsukamaki

For now, I am stuck customizing old swords cause customization is what a man who has no cash does 😂

Man, when you hold them, all. Others turn to. Sh*t you realize, this is what an iron tsuba should be But the problem is I'll never have a blade worthy of it
