Word on the street is that Zombie Tools is playing around with the idea of making a separate division for custom work called Bad Rabbit Blades.
The following quote snipped from an email to the ZT Community:
This has me thinking of all sorts of designs for robust tactical and/or post-apocalyptic fun. Don’t know if their custom work would delve into the historical.
The following quote snipped from an email to the ZT Community:
It is yet undecided whether these blades will be branded(makers mark/logo) as ZT or Bad Rabbit or both. It may depend on whether the piece derives for something ZT has done or something entirely different.
This also opens up the possibility of making custom pieces for customers. The issue there is that with custom work comes custom prices. Zombie Tools is considered a semi-production shop. We spend a lot of hours designing and prototyping before anything sees the light of day and many blades are sold to recoup that cost. Custom blades don't have the luxury of those numbers so the custom prices will reflect this. It is also our Murphy's Law of blade making that if we're only making one of something, we are far more likely to hose it, so that needs to be taken into account as well.
We've also talked about the idea of exclusivity and decided that it is a bad idea. If someone orders a custom piece, shows it off, and someone else wants one just like it, we'll make it. The initial customer gets the glory of having #001 on their blade.
Lastly, not all requests will be taken. Not all ideas are good ones and some blades, while they may be awesome, might ruin my enjoyment of life and enjoyment of life always comes before money.
