look. creepy doesn't mean violating any of your rules. in this case, a friend of yours managed to find posts of mine from years ago, ON A DIFFERENT FORUM. that's stalking.

Well I guess that also depends. Did he just stumble on it because it was on another sword forum and you used the same name and picture? A lot of the members here are also on other forums. That's the point of not using real names and not reusing names on different forums. If the person is annoying you with PM's definitely report it to the Mods. Nothing is 100% safe on the internet and some people do use it to stalk. But if he just said, hey I know you from XYZ forum that's not stalking. If you're walking down a busy street the people walking behind you aren't automatically following YOU.

Vous devriez peut-être envisager de lire un livre d'histoire.

Oh the irony being a prick on a thread politely asking people to not be pricks, then using the coward’s answer of “just joking”...

I figure, if someone's sufficiently unhinged to become a forum mod in the first place, you may simply be reporting Renfield to Dracula.

Stating a historical fact is being a prick now? Historically speaking France has a rich warrior history and has been perhaps the United States staunchest ally. So the whole dig a the French is not accurate or funny.

Stating a historical fact is being a prick now? I suspect you won't listen to anything anyone says, but It's going to bother me if I don't correct you. France inflicted heavy casualties on the invading German army, and was directly responsible for the Miracle at Dunkirk by holding the line so the British could escape after the Germans outmaneuvered the Allies. Earlier the french military almost undid the invasion at a key moment where Hitler himself voiced fear that he had made a horrible mistake, before the German Army managed to regroup. Also, after a German victory became clearly inevitable, the Italians launched an invasion of France in the south, and got their asses kicked by an army half their size. SO no, you were at best being ignorant, and at worst being a total prick because none of what you said is factual. I highly recommend you drop that attitude and start listening when you are wrong, otherwise you will never learn.

Depending how you define "ally", the French probably ceased being our "staunchest ally" a great many years ago...

SO no, you were at best being ignorant, and at worst being a total prick because none of what you said is factual. I highly recommend you drop that attitude and start listening when you are wrong, otherwise you will never learn. I disagree with your statement. On May 24, Hitler and his high command hit the stop button. The panzer columns were halted in their tracks; the plan was for the Luftwaffe to pulverize the defenders until the slower-moving German infantry divisions caught up to finish the job. That fateful decision gave the British the time needed for the Dunkirk miracle. The French had nothing to do with stopping the Germans outside Dunkirk. The "remains" of the French army who are operating under English command at Dunkirk had fallen back with the British and were assigned perimeter defense to Dunkirk because it was their homeland and the British gave priority to evacuating British troops first and foremost. By the time Dunkirk occurred, the French army had for all intent purposes ceased to exist. The French had a few engagements with the Germans early in the invasion where they inflicted some significant losses (French tanks at the time had heavier armor/guns than most German tanks and therefor well suited to the defensive role they were used in) on German armored formations but nothing they did stopped or even appreciably slowed the German invasion. The many battlefield / tactical failures of the French along with the German high speed combined arms attack doomed any defense the French could have mounted. When well led the French forces had the ability and material to acquit themselves well but they were seldom well led particularly when employing the then current French military strategy of "methodical warfare" against the German combined arms "Blitzkrieg". IMHO, the last time the French were "well led" was under the command of Napoleon Bonaparte.
