Never said they were not? I just think they look odd lol There is so much variety in the spear world, I guarantee there's at least one you'd not find so odd. And when spears morph into polearms you get real crazy and interesting variance.

More of a glaive, sure. But I've seen some really cool Indian and African spears, and one can't really say the chidori jumanji yari is just a boring ol' spear.

I used to. Love Japanese pole arms. I've owned both a naginata and a yari
I just find European ones better. For much less work you can easily remake the whole thing. You don't need to split the staff in half

You say that as if we weren't all just as clueless at some point.

You say that as if we weren't all just as clueless at some point. Simply being clueless and trying to share it with everybody as knowledge are two very different things ...

You say that as if we weren't all just as clueless at some point. Simply being clueless and trying to share it with everybody as knowledge are two very different things ... Are they? Remember, you can't know what you don't know; people who are wrong do not know that they're wrong (and if they did, they wouldn't be wrong but lying). Newbies will always have more enthusiasm than knowledge - it's not their fault, that's just how life in linear time works. So they want to chime in and contribute, even when they have little to nothing to offer, and often end up serving up crap and looking foolish. We've all done that, and most of us will do it again to some extent if we ever get into something new. The best anyone can do about it is correct them, kindly, and try not to throw the metaphorical baby out with the blackwater.

MOK, I know you meant bath water. Black water, in plumbing terms is poo waste water (gray water is bath, dish washing waste water). But the visual I got from your mistake is hilarious. If only I could do that. Sigh.

Luckily, I'd outgrown that stage of immaturity before the Internet was available.
