I would also recommend getting a motohara . It’s worth the time and effort to save up . I handled one of my friend’s motohara LMC and that thing was absolutely well-crafted , masterfully balanced, with little to no flaws at all when compared to production swords in any price point bracket. But you do have other options such as getting a bare-blade from a custom smith but you will have to make compromises on koshirae and mounting quality if you stick to the original budget . Even then the custom would probably fall short with comparison to the motohara.

Yeah, I think your right loveofswords, and reptaronice, it would be around 1 - 2 years ( probably ) scince swords laws where I am are very strict, will probably be moving to the US in the middle of next year.

Hello. I have a few of my Katanas that I would sell if you were interested and for significantly less then $1500. Also, they have always been very well kept wall hangers yet with the ability to cut. I have a SBG Black Dragon Elite I will sell. I have a ST. Nihonto 28 inch blade, 11 inch Tsuka custom made Unikobi-Zukiri with a double bo-hi, differentially hardened with a Hi-Chogi hamon pattern, wrapped in genuine Same-Gawa and black leather Ito in the Katatamaki battle style wrap with brass fittings and red Tsuba. I have a Munitoshi Viper mono steel quenched blade in a Unikobi-Zukiri with a bo-hi wrapped with Same-Gawa and a dark blue Tsuka-Ito wrapped in the Katatamaki battle style wrap. It has both steel and brass fittings and no hamon being non differentially hardened. Let me know if anything sounds like what you may be interested in. None of these Katanas have ever even one time been used to cut with. Thanks.

Hello! I am relatively new to Swords and have been ( and still is ) saving up for a nice katana for around $1500. looking for a nice looking katana that can be displayed but the most important thing is functionality. I will be doing laito with it mostly with the ocasional cutting up stuff like bamboo. Im looking mainly for a great katana for under $1500 and a good smith that could forge me a great katana for $1500. If you have any questions for me, feel free to ask. Thanms in advance!! What kind of steel are you looking for? Spring steel? Took steel? Etc. Citadel and Motohara have some nice katana, but those are a bit out of your range. For bamboo I would recommend a T10 or 1095 as I doubt L6 bio nite will be an option in your range. Hanwei has some more expensive katana as well. Here is an example of a T10 hanwei sells and has many others like it wish you the best. *Edit* (If you ask in the classifieds, you could find a nice used citadel for your price range most likely.) Braden casiberia.com/product/koi-katana/sh2465Which do you prefer, your Citadel or your Motohara? And which do you prefer of your T10,1095 or L6 Bainite swords?

That's how false information spreads like a wild bush fire.

I dont frequent this forum.I thought maybe you had actually purchased one of these since you recommend them.No need to be childish about it. And I dont need an inexperienced child to confirm rather I'm "cool" or not.

So many people on here like to nitpick so if your sincere my apologies but I do not expect any good from anyone on here. Understand from my PoV it sounded sarcastic, it isnt odd for me to think that as a lot of people tend to be sarcastic on here. So once again if that was not your intent my apologies.

Bainite is a microcrystalline structure of the steel from a specific heat treatment and not everyone on the market that uses L6 for their swords forms a martentensite edge with a bainite body .
