I'm getting tired of the new attitude here showing a lack of trust for their old established members, wanting all sort of notes posted showing user name and date. I really don't need this So from now on I will only post over at My Armoury where we don't have to put up with this.
Regards
Robert

Jesus. Sorry, but we've been getting push back on this for several reasons, none of them being real. We aren't questioning the honesty or integrity of longstanding members, we have instituted one new rule and are enforcing the existing ones more rigorously. The situation goes for EVERY SINGLE MEMBER, including moderators. We've had a lot of scammers, and in the short time that this new rule has gone up we've caught and stopped two or three.
It is not an ordeal to take an extra picture with a note. It is not a lack of trust for older members. It is a blanket rule, it goes for everyone to protect everyone. It is working. It is unfortunate that it has to be this way, but it does.

I respect your opinion, but I feel it is fair to tolerate jumping through a few hoops in order to curb scams. I also don't feel it is that unreasonable, nor do I believe it was intended to disrespect veteran forumites. The rules should apply to everyone, even if you have an unimpeachable record.

Some old, long time members can't be trusted.

That may be edelweiss, but as I said, this is something everyone here has to do from now on. It's honestly embarrassing to approach members who have operated without so much as a shadow of a sliver of dishonesty in their sales, some of whom have been pretty prolific sellers too, and say "You have to do this now". So I definitely understand the frustration, but it's also frustrating for us moderators that folks are reading things into this and getting outraged.

There has been groups lately. I bring it to topic cause even I find myself faithfully lending myself to those in my group ideals. It's like... We started as a community. But now we're making gangs, as laughable as it sounds. It reminds me if my reserve. We stick with those who stick with the same ideas we do

But that's the sword community. We been distancing ourselves from each other. I imagine shame has a part to play and also disagreements. Right now there is no unity

Well, you also live in a land here of a no real name rule. As I am neither a seller or buyer here, I'll leave you to your own devices. Cheers GC

Expressing my interest in my native blood yet going by an entirely Celtic name

honestly im all seriousness tho as someone who sells alot of swords, having to show the piece of paper does not make me feel like im not trusted, especially since the mods have been generous with giving me time to get the necessary picture, it just helps make all the sales more legit regardless of if u are a long time seller or a new member

Actually, my point is really of caveat emptor. Don't regard low post sellers as crooks without checking them out. Geez, even contact them before.
It is not only rubes and newbs that might get sucked into what looks like the deal of the century and as true, long term forumites even following the rules can end up with bad sales on both ends. Life sucks and then you buy on forums.
Some post predominately on the classifieds, so a low post count might mean diddly squat, or it might note the number of years they have been selling here.
No amount of added security could have avoided the Marc Ridgeways and Tsugio, Brandon Thell, on and on. Stuff happens and sometimes good dogs do bad things.
Suck it up buttercups, on all sides of the fences.
Cheers GC

yeah it is true what u say that post count does not mean much, but with the influx of attempted scams it never hurts to have counter measures in place

The resistance and hurt feelings is, frankly, getting on my nerves. Just do it. Or don't. Take your toys and leave the sandbox if you don't like it.
