Hello I have a wilkinson fraternal sword. I like the home made scabbard that is with it, but I would like an original scabbard. Obviously cross guard, handle and pommel are not original. They're made by the same friend I bought it from. Does anyone have any ideas about where to get an original wilkinson scabbard? An original cross guard and pommel would be great too, even if it's just for collecting and don't get put on this one. Measurements can be provided. I'd also like to know more about the maker mark, as Pooley sword say they haven't seen one like that. I paid for an appraisal at antique-swords and they reckon it is a wilkinson. Thank you in advance for your knowledge.

Welcome aboard, Sorry to have missed this. I am assuming you are in the UK. Pooley would have been my first recommendation but as you have already contacted them, that's a bust. You might look at the American market for a sword and type that fits dimensionally. I often see US fraternal scabbards on militia swords that once had leather scabbards. There are listings for US Masonic swords sell at attractive prices, so buying a sword with a scabbard might be economically sound and then use the scabbard, selling the US sword for a nominal price sans its scabbard. I don't have any info on the Wilkinson fraternal stuff and I've not seen Robert Wilkinson-Latham active on Sword Forum International since 2016. If you can track him down, or an heir, they might have information. www.swordforum.com/vb4/member.php?30005-Robert-Wilkinson-LathamCheers GC

Thanks mate. The catalogue pictures in that thread were very good. I'm in Australia, so getting any sword from overseas equals a lot of postage cost. I'm thinking of getting a wkc scabbard, but they are expensive. Pooley couldn't help me with the maker mark, but I didn't ask them about a scabbard. Perhaps I should. Thanks for the help.
