By "full volume" you mean put the dial on 11, right? If there is even an 11, let's take it to 12

I watch a lot of Youtube, old westerns and war movies. More than I should, but I use it to kill time in the hot afternoons. Watched all of Vikings. It started out good and then seemed to go downhill. Too bad it was not historically accurate according to some reviewers. The others were pop stuff of little interest to me.
Local TV is mostly in Spanish and lowbrow, plus hollywood culture is not mine. Too much good history and how to on Youtube. Netflix has some historical novels but it seems many good ones don't get past the first season or 2. they just posted season 5 of Ertugrul, but it will probably be a year or 2 before Osman rolls around.

I’ll ditto Bebut. If it makes it to YouTube I’ve probably watched it. YouTube is both more entertaining and informative than TV. I haven’t been to a theatre in years.

Don't watch TV anymore. Where I live the only way you can get TV is to pay for it and I have better things to do with my time and money. If I think I'll like something I'll buy it on DVD. Never watched Game of Thrones but saw some of it on YouTube just didn't do anything for me. Liked Vikings for the first 3 seasons but it started going down hill after that. I have the first 4 seasons on DVD but unless the remaining season ends up in the $5 bin at Walmart I won't be buying anymore. For me to say that about a Viking series that's saying a lot. The only reason I bought LOTR was because all three was in the $5 bin and they were the 2 disc versions. After watching them I would have paid the full price for them. Even got me to buy 3 of the Hobbit DVDs. Knight Fall lost me after the first 3 episodes. After the first 3 seasons of The Last Kingdom I'm still looking forward to the next season. Although I don't think it will be quite the same without Alfred tormenting Uhtred and how many more women can Uhtred fall in love with only to have them die. He's not much better with his friends and family. Waiting for the series The Witcher hoping it will live up to all the hype. Never read the books or played the games so I'm going into it cold. There are a couple little things in the trailers I didn't like, first the medallion he's wearing is not the same as the original one which I like a lot better. Second he's only wearing one sword and it's not a very good one. Looks like a cheap wall hanger fantasy sword. I don't watch any of the zombie stuff, doesn't interest me even if they have swords in them.

The real fascinating thing of GoT was the long time development of characters and the unusual story twists, at least as long as GRRM was part of the show. You can't get it with watching only some youtube clips of famous scenes.

After having some cool-down time from Season 8, I still appreciate the incredible quality off the first four seasons. Some of it ranks among the greatest TV of all time. So I will give D&D their due and say that, if they work with quality material, they are excellent at *adapting* a complex story to TV. They lost their way soon after getting ahead of the books. But, seriously, I still say watch those first four seasons.

The whole thing is entertaining, but in the last two seasons the storytelling changed from GRRM character gardening to the usual "painting by numbers" story twists.

Mr. In-between on FX is wonderful. Little half hour episodes that remind me of Breaking Bad, but with a flavor all its own.

I quit watching TV when the last of the kids moved out, around 15 years ago. I get everything I'm interested in from the Internet, classical radio, and reading (anybody else remember what books are?). Too many projects and too much reality going on to waste time on sitting motionless absorbing commercial nonsense gushed from "The One-Eyed God".

I grew up in a house without TV. I've never felt the need for it, if I want to watch a TV show, I just use the internet.

I have Dish Network, with about a gazillion sports and PPV channels. I watch the Travel Channel, History, FX, and a few others. Otherwise, TV is just background noise while I'm polishing a piece of armor or sharpening a blade. I still watch 'Cutlery Corner' occasionally when I want a good laugh. Nothing will ever beat the 'Katana' episode though. Poor dumb guy. I'm glad he wasn't seriously injured.

i only watch movies from the 30s, 40s n 50s. Those are entertaining and my favourite whether from England, US, or Mexico. At times a bit corny but entertaining as they were meant to be. A few years back my grandson was visiting and looking for something to do was going through my DVD collection and came up with a John Wayne and asked about watching that. That was one episode in a serial. I have three complete serials of his before he got into B westerns. Because of the time limitations I told him that was part of a serial and best choose another. His reply was “what’s a serial”? Oh man! That’s all we could talk about Monday at school, the serial we had seen the previous Saturday. In those days Dad would give me a quarter and that took care of the 9¢ movie, a 5¢ Coke, and 10¢ pop corn, and I had a penny to spare. WOW!

Many years ago, when mankind did not have television or books and were basically sitting around a fire in caves, people told stories for entertainment,or education. Sitting watching someone telling a factual or tall tale, around a flickering light in the darkness with family and friends. That progressed over the centuries into plays and performances, like the ancient Greeks for example.Same thing, flickering lights etc. Storytelling has been around forever.
Television is just modern storytelling.Sitting at home in a manufactured cave watching a box with flickering light whilst someone performs their tales. It is actually ingrained into our psyche.
