It's almost embarrassing to admit, but many of the most popular sword related TV shows in the last 5 years or so I am yet to see a single episode.
Game of Thrones - no idea, never read the books or watched a single episode. The Walking Dead - again, not seen a single episode.
Vikings - I was able to watch a few seasons of this one.
Breaking Bad - No idea and not really interested.
Why?
Well, there are a couple of reasons. One is simply practical - I don't have the free time. SBG has me wearing more hats than the mad hatter himself - there is ALWAYS something that needs urgent attention, and I feel guilty to be watching TV instead of working on a new project or answering a customers question or dealing with a SBG Store related customer service issue properly.
The other, I just can't stand it when everyone raves about something - turns me right off it.
I will probably sit down an watch some of these one day. But who else has no time or interest in TV shows these days? The only show I watch is forged in fire, but that's because the history channel or discovery channel tend to be on in the background while I work.
Curious if I am the only one who feels this way.

I've watched most of those shows if not all. By that I mean every episode š
But tv shows are just background noise for me. I never give anything my entire attention. I got too much to do and not enough care to focus.
Maybe you will enjoy how I watch tv. Right now I'm watching a tv show while on SBG. Life doesn't have enough spare time so I like to multitask. Aka do everything half assed, if even that
When it becomes background noise, you learn to love almost any show š

I also tend to pull back when something become a cultural phenomenon. It gets super annoying. I also watch almost no TV. I'll watch FiF or Knife or Death if a friend or forum member is on, but other than that nothing much. Of curse, sometimes it's at my expense. I stayed away from Stranger Things for a long time because I found the constant barrage of fandom annoying, but found it to be pretty awesome when I watched it. I was into Walking Dead for a season or two when it came out, but got turned off by the direction it went. Haven't checked out Vikings or GoT.

I just isolate myself from the opinion of the masses. I would hate so much of the things I loved if I let the obsessions of others affect me.
Hell. I stopped listening to metal for years cause of angry neck beards complain of what was "true metal". I've seen those guys kill movements, and threaten the sword community.
But I isolate myself and enjoy my hobbies in silence and isolation. I only ever did them for me anyway

Me! I don't watch tv because I work irregular shift work and it's too much effort. I could record stuff to watch later but then you spend your days off catching up, and I've got too much else that needs to be done. I have watched bits of of game of thrones on YouTube but haven't ever watched a full episode.

I gave up TV years ago. I've extended this to Netflix, Hulu, etcetera as they've popped up. I have next to no interest in most forms of popular entertainment and as others have said already, I hate anything that gets too big for itself.
I'm even jaded on my preferred media, so there's that.

Honestly, every form of media has become harder and harder to digest lately. If I was a parent I don't think I would own a tv. Most of its garbage, so it's why I don't watch it fixated š

Watched The Walking Dead ā it was good and got worse over time. Still a good, enjoyable show.
Absolutely loved Vikings, especially the earlier seasons.
Breaking Bad was the best show I ever watched, from beginning till end. The spin-off Better Call Saul is great, too.
Tried the first episode of Game of Thrones ā just couldnāt stand it.
Currently trying to get warm with Stranger Things.

Honestly, itās nice to know there are other folks out there that are unplugged from the popular media stream. I donāt watch TV at all anymore. Not even sports or news. I donāt really listen to popular music, either. Or play video games. Or go see movies for that matter. I still have a vestigial Netflix account, but I havenāt really used it in ... years. Wow. Now that I think about it, Iāve become quite the culture curmudgeon. š

Game of Thrones - despised the first book, never watched it. The Walking Dead - no interest in zombies, never watched it. Vikings - Nice unintentional comedy for the one episode I watched. Breaking Bad - the only good moment in the show was when they killed the thug the show was about.
I got rid of my TV set at the digital cut over and stream very little. I watched Good Omens recently and watch The Expanse. That's pretty much it.

I've seen none of those shows, not much on TV and they are not offered here. Sometimes I catch a trailer on YouTube and once in a blue moon a whole episode if I can find one.

I'm kinda in the same mind-set. I don't really watch much TV, except as background noise when I'm doing something else. I work almost constantly, so when I get home or DO have a DAY OFF---I've always got plenty to keep me busy. My wife makes sure of that! I got into Vikings when it first started, but by the time Ragnar died (? ) I had pretty well lost interest. GoT's---never seen anything but YouTube clips. I do watch a few videos on YT every now and then, but they are mainly educational---DIY and 'how-to' videos. I have a few shows that I record, but usually don't have time to watch them until MUCH later. The only show my wife watches is 'Friends'. I go outside and whack stuff with one of my machete's when that comes on! My TV is almost always on, but tuned to the History, Discovery, or Travel Channel(s).

Honestly, it surprises me that there is so many people here who don't watch game of thrones haha. You guys love almost anything as long as it has a sword in it

Nope, never seen a single episode of any of those shows. I think they are all stupidly unrealistic Hollywood garbage and I have better things to do with my time. Like study swords and armor and stuff like that

I'm a die-hard metal head from waaaayyyyy back when KISS was the new kid on the block. I guess I've isolated myself so much from the opinions of the masses that I had no idea whatsoever that some neck beards were complaining about something. For as far as that goes, I like what I like and don't care about what other people think about what I like. So yes, I also like Punk. And Metal. And ABBA. Love ABBA. Deal with it.

By "full volume" you mean put the dial on 11, right?
