If you want some fun sword play, and well enough action based closely enough on real events, I would suggest the book "So Rubio Bravo, or the terrible brothers of tobasco" by Colonel Tomas Hoyer Monstery. Basically what I imagine pgandy as lol.

I might be alone here in that I enjoy novels aimed at women. That's like one of those things I can never share in real life lol. I was really into Anne Rice Since you are into Anne Rice, you probably already know about Nancy Collins (Sunglasses After Dark). If not, definitely worth checking out. My favorite Vamp novels by far.

I was raised in the world of women in my childhood. It wasn't till my teens did I learn the hardships of man. I spent almost all my life fighting my destiny to return to it again lol.
I'll definitely check out the books recommended though. I would love to experience the nature of those sorts of novels all over again

I'm always reading a book. Usually it's only the 20-30 minutes before I go to bed that gets dedicated to it, but it's every night. I'm currently re-reading The Death of Dulgath by Michael J. Sullivan. This is the third book in his Riyria Chronicles series. I definitely recommend him as an author. The story is based in a fantasy kingdom, swords, battles, etc. Although I would also recommend starting with the Riyria Revelations series, which was published before the Chronicles, but chronologically takes place afterward. But I think they work better in the order of publishing.

One-Punch Man (just caught up to what has been published after read them at about 1 volume per week or 2)
My respect for you has increased considerably.
I'm currently reading Vagabond, by Inoue Takehiko; and I recently started on George Silver's works.

Both of you watch Vinland Saga If that's a recommendation, I'll certainly consider it (but I'm more likely to read the manga than to watch the anime). My manga list isn't long. Apart from One-Punch Man and Uzumaki: Vagabond, Lone Wolf and Cub, Food Wars!, and Oishinbo - but that last one not as an ongoing story, courtesy of the way that the English-language version was done: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oishinbo#North_American_releaseCould also add Shaman Warrior, but that's technically manhwa rather than manga.

I won't say Vinland Saga is the most amazing thing ever. But it's definitely unique as far as anime goes. It feels more like an animated tv show, in the same way Berserk, Akira, and Jon-Rog do. And these anime are always my favourite kinds that I cannot help myself but recommend

Way ahead of ya, haha - I've already read the manga. Absolutely top notch, one of my favorite series. But I'm definitely planning on watching the anime, the couple scenes I've seen were knock-out quality. Gotta finish a few other series first though, heh.

I picked up "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" by George RR Martin at an airport. I highly recommend it, and I hope we get an adaptation of it. The first third goes into good detail about a jousting tourney, and it's easy to get absorbed into the world

Heeheehee. I finished with the horror story anthology and finally got around to that facsimile collection of original Japanese Batman comics from 1966-67 that I've had sitting in my shelf for ages. Bat-Manga!Seriously. No, I mean that's seriously the title, exclamation mark and all. It's awesome, at once strange and familiar and just really damn good in its own right, to boot! It's got some of the grittiness of the early comics, some of the zaniness of the TV show, the fantastic pseudoscience of the Silver Age but without the Comics Code enforced childishness... I can't stop grinning! Help!

Yea starting to get bored of this book I'm reading. One can only hear a man described this way so much. This author is thirsty AF. Like settle down, woman.
I'm starting to suspect I discovered twilight the vampire hunter, but with angels too
People call out men for over doing it with their lustful descriptions (Poalini comes to mind) but it turns out, it's a human thing. Who would of thought eh 🤔
(that last bit was a bit sarcastic, in case it's taken literally 😂)

I don’t see Colonel Tomas Hoyer Monstery name any where, but a Google search led me here. I checked with Barnes & Nobles and Amazon with no luck.

Ifrit or djinnobi or whatever your name is today, haha, I to was raised by women. My single mom and grandmother and did not have much male influence until my teens and not all of that good but not all bad either. I have read a lot of Anne Rice and I mean a lot. In my opinion she is the only female writer that I have read that truly understands the male mind/psyche. I do like books and movie- tv shows with strong female characters. I just finished the sixth book of Elizabeth Haydon’s Symphony of Ages. Read the first three years ago then found second three now found out there are three more to finish the series. Have finished four of Kristen Britain’s Green Rider series. Don’t know how many more there are. Also finished about a month ago Crown Duel by Sherwood Smith. Was originally two books, Crown Duel and Court Duel. Many years ago read The Deeds of Paksinarion by Elizabeth Moon. She also writes some space opera and also mixes fantasy and sci fi in some of her books. Good female characters that start out humble and develop somewhat slowly into strong characters and fighters, but not overnight like some books. Also good, but not female centric, Liam Hearn’s Tales of the Otori. Alternate world Japan during samurai times. Anyway that’s enough for now. Have fun.

However the link above appears to be a great one. I'm a history buff and so far I'm enjoying it to the fullest.
