After pining away for years for a functional replica of the Sword of Truth from the series by the same title, I finally stumbled upon these pictures: Unfortunately, Terry Goodkind asked the creator of these not to sell them, due to copyrigth infringement. Terry also commissioned two of them for himself from the creator (the two flanking the centerpiece). The man who made them said he used a Del Tin blade, which I'm guessing is the Orcrist blade. Luckily Albion still has some of these in stock, eh? Hehe... It would be sweet if I could get someone to make a hilt like that center one, though. God it's beautiful.

Wow ! My wife would kill for one of these ! She's addicted to Goodkind. Just when you think to yourself, " Aw, no one's ever going to make that sword." you turn around and then it's right there ! Still, why wouldn't Goodkind just strike a leasing deal with Albion ? I'm sure his fans would appreciate the opportunity to own something like this, and he could get a cut of the profits. Who knows ?

Um, if those swords are based on the orcrist blade and the pommels and crossguard have some semblance of historical accuracy then take the truth off the handle and voila you can get someone else to make you the swords.

The "Truth" on the hilt is one of the biggest parts of the piece. It would be pointless to own the sword without that aspect.
Terry bought the two flanking the center sword in the first picture. He told the man who made them that he was going to be showing Sam Raimi, for possible use in the mini-series.

Blade is a Del Tin Orcrist. Albion has them for sale in the Moat sale. If you could actually built that hilt on the center sword (first picture), I would buy the blade.

A link to what? Those pictures are the only ones of the sword, and a tutorial was never posted by the guy. There are no other replicas of the sword that I know of.

I almost forgot that swordboy has an angle grinder now ;D That's going to be some tricky brasswork there on the hilt though. Hard to tell how it's constructed from the pics. Good luck to you both !
I'm glad they're not available from Albion, for selfish reasons. My wife saw the pics last night and started digging for my credit card ! Lol! ;D

I wish Terry would let someone make them, what with the mini-series and all coming up.

It wont be ready for a fall release, unless they're keeping ALL the development under very tight wraps. I wouldnt mind waiting an extra season to see ti done right. And with Raimi on board, I dont doubt that it will be fantastic.
Perhaps with the release of the mini-series, we'll see a licenced functional replica. I'd even take a wall-hanger, to be honest. So long as it's done as nicely as the United Cutlery LOTR swords were.

Very VERY cool, thanks kid for posting this. I have only read the first one, but am already a big fan, and have had a slight itch now turned ferocious to do the sword of truth. Very cool blades, who was the maker?

I dont know. I ran across the pictures on Google and only briefly skimmed through the forum I found them on, checking if I could have one made.
I'm halfway through Chainfire right now, just wait until you get to Soul of the Fire/Faith of the Fallen (I consider the two more as one book).
You should make a SoT. I'd be very interested to see how it turns out.

I am a huge fan of that series, but I never liked the design of that sword. Even in alot of the cover art. I hope they dont completely morph the story for the mini series.

I saw the trailer for it, and I'm a bit disappointed. The sword is WAY off, which is really unacceptable. I mean, the guy that made the ones I posted was asked by Terry to make two more to show to Sam Raimi. And the sword is a HUGE part of the novels, so at least they could get some of the details right, like having "Truth" written on the grip in raised lettering. The actors are not what I imagined the characters to be, but I more than expected that one, so it's cool. I'll reserve final judgment for when I see the pilot episode. I do hope it does well enough to allow a continuous series. If Stargate SG-1 can get 10 seasons, I dont see why these 11 books can't get a series.
