Here's my review of this awesome dagger!! After watching "KnightFall" on netflix, I was "seduced" into getting a Templar blade.. I haven't owned a dagger yet so this was the perfect time! Specssbg-sword-store.sword-buyers-guide.com/product898.htmlOverall: 18" Blade Length: 12" Handle Length: 5 1/2" Weight: 1lb 3oz Materials and Construction 5160 Spring Steel Hand hammered, tempered and sharpened blade. All fittings hand carved from steel and peened the traditional way for maximum handle strength. Leather wrapped wood scabbard w/steel accents Dagger was packed in more grease than Danny Zuko's hair! Easy to clean up and good to know it was well preserved. This dagger is on steroids and probably would be a 2 handed sword for MiniMe! that's great though! nice weight and reach with it in pic, dagger is on top, Celtic short sword on bottom Steel type is awesome, came very sharp, tempered, peened.. the works! in my opinion an incredible dagger!

I have to wonder, why such a hugely long handle? Were they perhaps going for the Dark Souls look...?

I have to wonder, why such a hugely long handle? Were they perhaps going for the Dark Souls look...? I wouldn't say the handle is "too" long here i am holding it.. im only 5'5" with relatively small hands!

Oh, right, that's 5.5" including the pommel! So just an inch or so "extra", then (historically, these and most other daggers would have had very snug grips). That might actually be a positive feature in case somebody wants to use these with modern armored gloves, even if it does somewhat spoil the proportions for me...

I have one- it is a serious piece of cutlery! One of my favorites for sure.
