For the first time in quite a while, I had an idle evening at the house. Everyone else turned in early, giving me a chance to do a little routine inspection and maintenance on a few of my beloved blades. I laid out my favorites on the table for a very informal photo shoot. Ostensibly, I laid them out to compare size and profile geometry, but honestly I was just having a little fun. Anyway, in the spirit of sharing, here they are. From left to right: Messer; Type 5A+ by L Driggers Messer; Type 5A+ by L Driggers Italian m1833 Mounted Artillery Trooper Saber Swiss m1867 (1867) Cavalry Officer Saber, Mohr & Speyer, Berlin, Prussia French 1822 (1824) Light Cavalry Trooper Saber, Manufacture de Klingenthal Cheers. 🙂

Nice collection Pellius! Been wanting an Italian Artillery for a long time. A good and reasonable priced one is hard to find.
Cheers.

Uhlan - thank you. I probably paid a bit too much for this Italian, but it was still under my fairly modest budgetary cap. I’m happy to have come across it back when my hobby fund was healthier. Honestly, most of the more widely desired military swords are simply out of my price league, so I really cherish my few “prestige” pieces, modest though they may be.

Those Driggers messers are just too sexy. I'll be glad when he comes out of his 'semi-retirement'. I smell a commission in the air.

Christain - thank you. The Driggers messers are pretty sweet. I know I kinda cheer a lot for Lyn, but it’s because he does such an outstanding job. I’ve only actually commissioned the one sword from him, but it was a great experience with a very professional feel. I’m hoping that once he gets his power hammer all set up, he won’t be able to resist forging on some steel!
Stormmaster - last I looked it was still available, and at a very generous price. I’m continually tempted by it, but I’m low on moolah and out of room. I would have to sell a couple of swords first, and the budget blade market seems kinda slow right now. Also, Pino is putting up swords in the classifieds again, and that Argentinian is suuuuper alluring.
Pgandy - thank you kindly.

Yep...I've seen this over on myArmoury too. Higher-end pieces are moving pretty slow, and even lower-end pieces are sitting around for a while. If I had a *really* high-end piece to sell, I'd probably be better off running an ad in the Dallas Morning News. It would just say: Custom SWORD for Sale. Serious inquiries only. If you have to ask, you can't afford it. Email: ********@gmail.com I bet someone would respond.......and buy it!
