This is cool... Question, I didn't catch, is it a blunt edge designed for sparring, or just blunt and can be sharpened? Some times they make subtle design differences...but this looks like it needs to be a backyard cutter...

Blunt for sparring. Not a good blade geometry I'd bet for cutting.

That's why I asked...in theory you can re-profile anything. But if it's designed as a sparring weapon, most likely sharpening would be bad...
