... but also likely on the oversized,chunky/heavy side, unbalanced side. Especially the fittings and handle diameter. Which pretty much describes the Father's sword (I have the Windlass version.) But it does look 'way cool.

I like the look but due to the movie I always expect a predeterminated breaking point.

I like the look but due to the movie I always expect a predeterminated breaking point. Poor heat treatment. Nerd out with me for a minute. So when he cools the sword in the snow he doesn't put the whole blade in the snow. Only to a certain point (I guesstimate about 5-7 inches from the tang.) And where does the sword break? About 6 or so inches from the guard. Making it the dagger Conan beheads Thulsa Doom with. Now this was either an intentional inside jab at the cooling in the snow process by Jody or it was just crazy coincidence. Either way makes you think dont it?

Wouldn't the part of the blade not in the snow be not quenched, less brittle and even reheat the transition area? I think the problem was the cast iron.

Well yea and the theory is the breaking point is caused by not fully quenching the blade on top of the snow causing the upper portion of the blade to cool too fast and make it more brittle causing breaking point. Or it could've just been the divine Valkerie intervention.... Bottom line Conan's dad made obviously crappy swords..., Riddle of Steel he knew not, lol!

The fittings are either solid brass or alloy The blades can be made to various lengths 1095 mono tempered steel or folded Various handle lengths Balance is very close to the guard 4lbs Worth a look !!! Is triple peened with a threaded pommel Much better then windlass offering

Keep in mind that just because the POB is near the guard doesn't necessarily mean it will be a joy to handle. I'm thinking a heavy overall weight combined with a thick circular handle might throw a wrench in all of that. But Yes I am sure it will be a nice piece and will be plenty strong/functional. Was told the weight coming in at 4lbs with the fuller added like the original
