Not as a male escort! Hey guys, I've been wanting to get more into hilt making and sword and knife cutlering, and would like to offer my services to our community. I can repofile 19th century swords and sabre replicas to be closer to the originals (and others if you specify a cross section you want), and build knife and sword grips, and to an extent guards. I can also blue hilt components, and clean and repair antiques (such as bends, heavy rust, or loose hilt components). Another thing I can do is custom grips for fencing swords. I have a fair bit of practice in this area and have made custom grips for my own swords. I do have pictures of these! If this whole thing doesn't fall through - I would like to request the M&V tab as required by forum rules, if I understand that right. I would upload some files of my work - but I realize I have not actually saved any photos of it. I can also make knives and swords in request depending on complexity, via stock removal. Okay! That's my debut as someone who is trying to enter this arena. Feel free to throw money at me.

I thought at first that had switched teams. Good luck in your endeavor.

You certainly fulfill the criteria to be a male escort, and I intend for that to be a compliment. In any case, I have a tulwar hilt I mounted onto a 1796 cavalry sabre blade that is in a state of horrible disarray. I ruined the koftgari ethings and ineffectually tried scrubbing everything off to create a matte even finish. It currently looks awful. Is that something you could potentially work on?

I have, just not as often of as knowledgeable in the historical norms of them. Have anything specific in mind?

I own a saber that Jordan worked on that is really, really nice. I'd highly reccomend him for any of your custom jobs in that field.

I just want to share I had a great convo with Jordan last night via private messages. He proposed a solid commission, provided me a sketch of an idea he had, and his knowledge of 19th century swords really shined. As soon as I find a box I am going to ship a sabre to him to be completely refurbished. I'm really excited.

So if I get that patton sword for the hilt and send it and a Windlass 1860 you'll be the one to send them to so they can become a sort of XM1911?

Thanks! Btw, I'll update this thread now that I have some of my more recent projects to show. They are - modifying the tang and grip profile and length to fit a new pommel on my rapier, refitting and putting a ferrule onto my fencing sabre, totally cleaning and restoring a Mexican cavalry sword, cleaning and putting a new grip onto an Italian cavalry sword M1860, making a new grip for a castille budget sabre, cleaning and restoring a Spanish M1867 Spanish infantry officer sword. What a mouthful! image hostingimage hosting
