Hello. I've received the 2 Hanbon T10 Hira Zukuri Nodachi today. Here are some basic spec. that I wanted them to make, which is 90cm blade with 30cm hilt, 3.5cm wide all along the length. 7mm thick at base and 3mm thick at tip. It turned out both swords were made thicker at 7.5mm at base and 4.4 mm at tip. The width also varied, in my sword case from the 3.45mm at base to 3.07mm at mid blade to 3.25mm at tip. The weight of the swords were 1.22kg with POB from 7.8" on my sword case and 8" on my student's sword case. There were issue in the fittings alignment that kinda offset to one side but the grip was straight. I also wanted a grip at 3.8cm x 3cm oval but it came too thin. So I had to thicken it myself to make a comfortable grip. The width at the base of blade protrudes outside the habaki a little bit. The sheath fits nice and not too tight or loose. Both swords have varying sharpness along the length and my student's one was more dull. I sharpened them both myself. I haven't test cut with mine yet but my student did her part. I will test cut tomorrow I think. For now, I think Sinosword has better accuracy in following spec., while hanbon swords have better heat treat ability. Delivery speed wise, Hanbon is better, delivering in a shorter turn around time, taking only 1 month since order. Packing-wise hanbon won as well. And in terms of the sword's functionality, I think Hanbon also won so far.

Thanks for posting. Looks like a real nice cutter. Thanks! I wish its attention to details could be consistent to their review katana they sent me. It shows that for lung chuan forges it's always hit and miss.

Maxwell bought the sword from me and did his test cut today. The first student in the video was Maxwell. The second one was Alex who was using a sinosword custom nodachi.
