So to speak, first kill though. I was relaxing in bed watching TV just before retiring when I decided to oil my M1840 NCO. The WD-40 is at the other side of the house and when I entered the kitchen and turned on the light a roach ran out. This is a rarity and certainly something I seldom see. I have traps for them that work. He must have been a new coming, probably trying to escape the rain that has been coming down in buckets for two days. I had the sheath in one hand and sword in the other and was trying to give him my 9½D, or in this case 44, he was fast and jinking like crazy. Those slippers couldn’t keep up and I went down. No chance of regaining my footing in time so it was the flat of the blade. Shoulder hurts and will probably show a bruise in the morning. But the nimble M1840 came through.

Thanks. It was one of those dirty jobs that somebody had to do.

Last time I fell flat I cracked a couple ribs, glad you're fine.
People (and things) should get information on where and who they are barging in on, roach only got itself to blame.
