Hello All,
I am very happy to have found your forum. I am new to the blade community and new to SBG and would like to introduce myself.
I am Adam 33 yrs old, always had an interest in blades be it small or big. there is a special place in my heart for japanese swords but i like all swords, they are all unique in my eyes. I am a Kendo practitioner and recently decided to get a real katana afterall that's what I am practicing for.
I dont have alot of experience in steel and blade smithing but i am a master carpenter therefore geometry, perfection in details and overall appeal as well as functionality is what turns me on.
for a start I went with Sinoswords and placed an order for something a little unusual giving my Kendo origin add real katana and you get something that might be unorthodox. so stay tuned things will get interesting. I have a question for any german members here with some knowledge about local vendors, specifically katana parts. where would I be able to find something made locally from ito to tsuba?

I forgot to add 3 more questions that i wasn't sure about, I tried to find the answers in the forum but couldn't understand it perfectly. 1st: is the tsuka length from tip of kashira to fuchi (tsuba not included)? or is it from kashira to habaki? 2nd:how long is an average habaki? 3rd: if my blade nagasa habaki not included is 29" (73.48 cm) and my tsuka is 11" (28 cm) what would be an approximate overall length?
I made a 3D module playing around with several sori lengths and shapes using CAD but i cant get a clear module because I don't know the answer to these questions.
thank you in advance

2nd: For production (Chinese) habaki I would say 27 mm (a bit over 1 inch) average. 3nd: 29'' nagasa + 1'' habaki + 1/4'' tsuba/seppa + 11'' tsuka = around 41 1/4''
And welsome to the forums.
